Victoria Mixed-Use Project Prefabricateed Panel Installation Underway

The prefabricated panels are here from Distinct Framing and going up as quickly and accurately as anticipated.

At the time of the project’s inception, there were few recent mixed-use projects in Nelson and none within the existing urban fabric. Therefore, it was clear that the project’s design needed to be tailored to the local capabilities to meet the client’s budget. Throughout the design process, JIM worked with local subcontractors to develop the project's planning and details. Before tendering, JIM brought Greyback Construction on board to provide design assistance and a constructability review of the project. One fundamental change was switching from stick framing to prefabricated wall panels to speed up design and maintain quality. JIM and Aspect (structural) worked closely with Distinct Framing on the shop drawings to ensure that, once the panels arrived on site, few, if any, adjustments to the framing would be required.
