Can architecture initiate a vision for a post-anthorpocene future?

THIS PROJECT LOOKS TO MERGE A NEW URBAN NATURE INTO A TRADITIONAL BUILDING TYPOLOGY, THE HALL. The project's context, therefore, is the seasons of the year. In Colorado, as in much of the West, these seasons are well known for their dramatic nature. This building appears to accentuate that drama to foster a strong relationship with the larger landscape, as is typically found in the city. At the same time, this building reevaluates these conditions within its urban context. This is an urban landscape and the farmers’ market, as all civic structures should, celebrates those systems that allow us to live with the density urbanity provides. Relationships with the sky, water, and plants are highlighted within a traditional typology of the hall, perhaps one of the most flexible structures of the last hundred years. Part-time gallery, industrial warehouse or market, a simple hall is often all that is needed for a place for gathering, which, after all, is what architecture really is all about.
